In the United States, the Manchester United Premier Cup has drawn the most competitive U14 and U15 teams across the nation, and, as a result, US Soccer has taken notice. Over the past 9 years US Soccer staff coaches have been on hand at the tournament to scout players for the U14 National Team programs. Many players who participated in the Manchester United Premier Cup have gone on to play for the United States National Teams and various professional teams. In fact, Jonathan Spector, a former Sockers FC and Premier Cup alumnus from 2000, now plays on the reserve and fist team for Manchester United!

16 boys teams and 16 girls teams from all over the U.S. will compete. The tournament organizer (FC Portland) will have an automatic entry for 1 team in each gender

  • FC Portland Academy – Portland, Oregon (tournament host)

  • Irvine Strikers – Irvine, Southern California

  • Mustang United – Danville, Northern California

  • Nomads S.C. – La Jolla, Southern California

  • Pateadores – Southern California

  • Player Development Academy (PDA) – New Jersey

  • San Diego Surf – San Diego, Southern California

  • Slammers FC – Southern California

  • Sockers FC Chicago – Chicago, Illinois

  • Vardar – Bloomfield Hills, Michigan

  • Weston Premier – Weston, Florida

In most countries, the competition starts with regional qualification tournaments. The winners of these tournaments qualify for the National Finals. The winners of the National Finals are invited to participate in a Continental Final, i.e. the European Final, the Asian Final, etc.
