Day 4 - Tuesday 28th Results: |
| Sockers
FC was the only Club to have 4 teams in Regional Finals. Out of 14
division finals, Illinois didn't make in only 2, marking presence in
12 of them. An impressive show by the Illinois teams which was led
by Sockers teams. Tomorrow things can get even better... |

U15 Boys
advance to Final...
- Sockers 2x1 Internationals:
Sockers came from behind to tie Internationals and take the game
to penalty kicks. Kirk Urso scored in a beautiful free kick to
give the team the equalizer. Sockers won the game in a series of
penalty kicks, which U15 players scored all but one and that was
enough to send Internationals home. Ironically Sockers will face
Raptors in the final, the same Raptors that defeated them in
overtime in the State Cup
Finals.

U17 Boys see Gold...
- Sockers 1x0 Magic:
U17 Boys fought not only a familiar rival in their semifinal
game, but also a red card right into the second half of this
physical game. Sockers played a man down for the entire second
half and even scored the winning goal that way. David May
received a pass from Charlie Campbell to dispatch Magic home.
The game was very physical and Sockers kept Magic's offense at
bay and counter attacked with tremendous discipline.
Congratulations...

helped set David up to score the only goal in the game. >>> |

U19
Boys full speed ahead...
- Sockers 2x0 KC Legends: U19
boys are not kidding around and they seem determined to win
these Regional competition. They are just one step closer of
getting it after beating KC Legends in a very hot day by 2x0.
They will face Thunder SC from Ohio tomorrow, in a game that
promises to be dramatic. This team has worked hard to get into
another final and this one has to be special. After being so
successful as U14, this group went through a period of
restructuring and maturing, which wasn't easy. They haven't won
anything since then and hopefully this one will be IT. Good luck
and congratulations...
<<< Different faces, only one
goal.

the game in the beginning of second half, setting up an
interesting game at the end. With only 3 minutes left Mark
Lorenzen put away a corner by Mark Plotkin to give the Sockers
the lead and a tough 5 last minutes. Ambassador pushed hard at
the end to tie the game up but Sockers held the lead with a lot
of heart and collective effort. Alex Erwin, Charlie Campbell and

over FC Pride from Indiana. Chicago's team never looked back
cruising into the lead of this group, making it more
interesting than never. Magic tied Pacesetters so Sockers
dictates its future going into its third and last game. Magic
has to win big and hope that Sockers tie its game in order
to advance, maybe too much pressure, more than they can
handle. Carly Samp, Tina Fiore, Amanda Cacciatore and
Jackie Drees scored the goals. Outstanding performances by Carly
Samp, Jackie Drees and Tina Fiore.

converted to score Sockers' first goal of the match. Mark
Plotkin increased the lead in a weird but effective shot and

3x0. David Claxton played the entire game with a bad sprained
ankle to hold Brookfield to a shootout. David twisted his ankle
in the Hotel but he was the only eligible goalkeeper available
to play. David didn't let his teammates down and took the
challenge to lead his team to an impressive win.
